Ontario | 1 January 2020 |
This study set out to determine if pre-existing diabetes is related to poorer survival rates for First Nations Women in Ontario who are diagnosed with breast cancer. The researchers looked at data from First Nations women with and without diabetes with a breast cancer diagnosis over a five year period. Their results showed that First Nation women with breast cancer are significantly more likely to die if also diagnosed with diabetes compared to First Nations women without pre-existing diabetes.
